《人间福报》、人间社有一群阵容坚强的义工记者，来自各行各业，他们有丰富社会经验，加上行佛愿力，长期以文字般若飨宴读者，而蔡招娣即是其中佼佼者，两年多来，她奔波三千公里农路，带回当季盛产蔬果，在佛光山惠中寺义工伙伴巧手烹调下，化为一道道美味蔬食，每一道皆蕴含小农感人故事，为《人间福报》专栏端上一篇篇「人间觉味」，而后水到渠成，集结成书，出版《小农餐盘──48道人间觉味》，为《人间福报》蔬食、环保、爱地球宗旨尽份心力。

蔡招娣为了《人间觉味》，花了两年多时间，跋涉三千公里，每趟旅程，沿途风景与人物，皆有意境，如忆起同为农人的父母，更能感同身受，为小农发声，当心有所悟，化为一篇篇文章，让读者心有戚戚焉，蔚为佳话。食物不仅是食物，专注于农务其实是另一种修行，在骄阳烈日下流汗，在风雨飘摇中坚持，实实在在的咀嚼人生。
